How to delete a manual reminder

If the payment has arrived or the transaction was reconciled after sending, the payment reminder can be deleted. Please note that payment reminders must be deleted individually. To delete a reminder, go to the specific invoice, select the Reminders tab, click Actions, and choose Delete. Deleting a reminder will restore the invoice to its previous status.

If you created a payment reminder but the payment has since arrived—or you reconciled the transaction after sending it — you may need to remove the reminder from the system. This article explains how to delete an unwanted payment reminder and how it affects your invoice status.

How to Delete a Reminder

Payment reminders cannot be deleted in bulk from a central list. They must be removed individually from within each specific invoice.

Go to Sales > Invoices.
Click to open the specific invoice containing the reminder you want to remove.
Select the Reminders tab inside the invoice.
Locate the specific reminder you wish to delete.
Click Actions next to the reminder and select Delete.

What happens when you delete a reminder?

Deleting a reminder automatically rolls the invoice back to its previous status (e.g., from Reminder Level 2 back to Reminder Level 1, or back to Unpaid with no reminders).
Deleting a reminder allows you to fix mistakes instantly. Once deleted, you can create a fresh, corrected reminder manually for that specific invoice or wait for the next automated reminder run.

To avoid unwanted reminders, please make sure to record the incoming payment or reconcile the transaction in your banking.
