Where is my data? Where is bexio operated?
bexio is operated on a modern cloud infrastructure in Switzerland.
How secure is my data?
bexio's servers are located in a multi-certified and secured data centre in Switzerland. The connection to our servers is made using SSL encryption. We regularly perform backups of customer data. In order to prevent data loss even in extreme cases (e.g., destruction of the data centre by an earthquake), we reserve the right to store encrypted backups in several data centres at home and abroad. Our security measures are continuously adapted and improved in line with technological developments. Backups are made daily and are stored in encrypted form. Databases as well.
How is bexio certified?
bexio is officially certified according to ISO/IEC 27001. This international certification confirms that we operate a tested and effective information security management system (ISMS). All processes relating to data processing, system architecture and organisation are regularly audited and meet the highest security standards.

How can I get bexio to delete all my data?
We can delete the data, but we must retain some data for the documentation of the business relationship (e.g., invoices, etc.). This is to comply with the statutory retention period.
I have the right to export all data. What do I need to do?
We offer functions in all modules to download the data in common formats (e.g., PDF, Excel). We do not offer a copy of the database dump for security reasons.
How do I get a signed contract for order data processing?
The order processing agreement is part of our terms and conditions and is therefore automatically concluded at the time of purchase. A signature is therefore not necessary. You can find all information and guidelines here: https://www.bexio.com/en-CH/policies
Is bexio audit-proof?
To completely dispense with physical receipts, documents must be archived in accordance with the business records ordinance, such as Switzerland's GeBüV. In addition, the storage obligations according to Art. 958f OR must be observed. Our document storage is not GeBüV certified/attested. It is the responsibility of the users to clarify whether their document storage system complies with GeBüV. Certification is not required by law.
Who does bexio share my data with?
We process the data we collect in order to continually improve the products and services you request, to manage your use of and access to our applications, products and information, to maintain our business relationship with you, to monitor and improve the performance of our services, to detect, prevent or detect illegal activities and to provide you with offers, information or marketing materials about products or services that we think may be of interest to you based on the data. The data may also be passed on to partner companies and service providers, selected third-party companies, institutes and/or legally authorised government authorities, both at home and abroad, for processing, storage and use within the scope of the aforementioned purposes. We have some of the aforementioned processes and services carried out by service providers who are based in the EU or Switzerland and who comply with data protection regulations. These are companies in the categories of IT services, payment transactions, printing service providers, billing, collection and consulting as well as sales and marketing and service providers that we use within the scope of order processing relationships.
I am a lawyer and need a special confidentiality agreement to use bexio. How do I get one?
