General
The 13th monthly salary can simply be added directly to the employee's profile in bexio. To do this, go to the relevant employee under "Employment". There you will find a heading with the title "13th monthly salary" where you can define the payout months.

December is always already selected and cannot be removed. If you would like to pay your 13th monthly salary in another month excluding December, you can deactivate 13th salary in the employee's profile and add it to the payroll runs for the corresponding months using "Additional salary elements" and calculate it manually.
The calculation method is automatically stored as 1/12, but can be adjusted to 8.33% under "Company" -> "Other"

Calculating the monthly salary
If your employee is employed with a monthly salary, bexio calculates the monthly salary as follows:
Average salary of all previous months before the payout month divided by 12 and multiplied by the number of previous months including the payout month.
Example:

Calculating the hourly rate
The hourly rate is regulated completely differently. As with the monthly salary, you can also activate 13th monthly salary in the employee's profile, but you cannot influence when it is paid out. The hourly rate is always paid out every month in accordance with the law.
However, you can define on which basis the 13th monthly salary should be calculated in the company settings.
You can either calculate the 13th monthly salary before the vacation bonus and the holiday compensation or include it in the salary total. You can find these settings under "Company" -> "Other".
