How contact links work

When a contact person is added to a company, they are treated as a standard private contact.

This means that:

The contact appears individually in the contact list
They are included separately in exports (e.g., Excel)
All standard fields remain available for each contact

By default, the categories and sectors of the primary contact are inherited when creating the linked contact.

How to create a link between two contacts

You can link contacts during their creation or from existing contacts.

Linking a new contact

Open the primary contact
Click on "Add contact"
Select the contact type (Private or Company)
Enter the contact's personal details (address, last name, first name)
Enter the link information

You can specify the relationship via the Link information field
(examples: Marketing Director, Technical Manager). This information is visible on both contacts.
Click on "Save"

Linking an existing contact

Open the contact profile
Click on "Add link between contacts"
Click on "Select contact" and search for the desired contact
Complete the relationship information

You can specify the relationship via the Link information field

Click "Save"

Important information

Access Rights

The display of contacts depends on the rights assigned to the user:

Access to all contacts
Access to own contacts only

To create or modify a link, the "Edit contacts" permission is required.

Archiving linked contacts

When a linked contact is archived:

It disappears from the link list

If the contact is restored:

The link and associated information are automatically restored

Exporting contacts

When exporting contacts (for example in Excel format),
contacts are listed individually.

Relationships between contacts can also be viewed in the export, allowing you to identify which contacts are linked to each other.
